MIRI: The 15th edition of Gala M.O. Sarawak lit up the Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club here with glitz and glamour, reaffirming the city’s growing ambition to be a fashion and cultural hub.
Organised by the Sarikei Dayak Talent Association with M.O. Event Management, the showcase featured the finals of The Face M.O. Sarawak Cycle 9, high-energy performances by local acts and appearances from national beauty queens.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who attended with his wife, Datin Melinda Claudia Bucking, hailed the organisers for sustaining the platform for 15 years.

He said the event’s creative pull not only boosts the local arts ecosystem but also drives tourism and economic spillovers.
“Tonight is about young Sarawak talents. We want them to go further, and to take this event to the international stage,” he said.
“Events like Gala M.O. do more than celebrate fashion. They connect Sarawak talent to the wider world,” he added.
Snowdan, who pledged RM20,000 in additional ministry funding, called for the gala to be listed on the official State Tourism Calendar.
The night’s biggest cheer came when Cindy Cloudia Buyang was crowned champion of The Face M.O. Sarawak 2025, with Tiffany and Rachel Honeychuch Joseph named runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
Special titles such as Pemanah Ngepan, Dara Dikerindu, Miss Congeniality and Miss Borneo Medispa were also awarded.
The evening was headlined by Malaysian singers, Atilia Haron and Mimi Fly, alongside appearances from Miss Grand Malaysia 2025, Viviana Lin Winston, and Miss World Malaysia 2025, Taanusiya Chetty.
