KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that the issue of gas distribution involving Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) has been resolved.
According to a TVS news report, Anwar highlighted that the government still needs to finalise specific details, especially those related to legal implications.
“I have discussed the matter with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and we have reached a clear decision.
“We are now working on the finer details, including parameters and legal implications, but the principles have already been clarified,” he said.
He said this during the launch of the National AI Office (NAIO) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) here today.
When asked about the timeline for announcing the resolution formula, Anwar declined to comment but reiterated that the matter has been settled.
He further emphasised that his recent discussion with Abang Johari on the issue was highly productive.
“Yes, it’s resolved. We’re just finalising the specifics. It was a very good meeting,” Anwar said.
Last Tuesday, Abang Johari revealed that the formula for resolving the gas distribution issue would be announced by Anwar himself.
He also expressed confidence that the issue could now be considered resolved while awaiting the official announcement.
