KUCHING: The Gawai Dayak 2025 ‘Niti Daun’ Parade, scheduled to take place on Saturday (June 21), will feature 90 contingents and 12 decorated vehicles representing the rich cultural heritage of the various Dayak ethnic groups in Sarawak such as the Orang Ulu, Iban and Bidayuh.
The full rehearsal for the parade was held smoothly around the Tun Jugah building here today.
Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring) and organising committee chairman, Datuk Gerawat Gala, was present to observe the rehearsal.
He was joined by Murum Assemblyman and parade working committee chairman, Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, who also inspected the readiness of the participants.
A safety and movement briefing was conducted earlier in the day, involving all contingents and organising staff.
The parade will kick off at 2:00 pm from the Tun Jugah Building and conclude at the Main Stage at Kuching Waterfront, covering a route of 1.2 kilometres.
The event will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and is expected to draw thousands of residents and domestic tourists.
