BINTULU: In the spirit of the 2025 Gawai Dayak celebration, Bintulu Port Prihatin extended its corporate social responsibility (CSR) outreach by distributing food baskets to 67 mothers from Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Kemena.

General manager of Group Stakeholder Relations at Bintulu Port, Maslihah Tioh said that the initiative is part of the Bintulu Port Foundation’s long-standing commitment to community engagement, with various CSR programmes implemented over the past decade.

“Bintulu Port Prihatin is not only a platform to support the community but also serves as a bridge that connects us with various segments of society,” she said during the donation presentation event held at Peace Garden, here recently.

She added that in conjunction with this year’s Gawai Dayak celebration, Bintulu Port collaborated with SIDS Kemena to deliver aid to mothers, who are the backbone of families and communities.

“Previously, we also worked with churches during Christmas and with the Tua Pek Kong temple for the Chinese New Year celebration.

“These efforts are not just about celebrating festivals, but also about bringing us closer to the community in a more personal and inclusive way,” she said.

Maslihah also expressed hope that the contribution would brighten the Gawai Dayak celebration and strengthen the bonds between the corporate sector and the local community.

Meanwhile, SIDS Kemena chairperson Jenny Bangga expressed her gratitude regarding Bintulu Port’s concern for the mothers who received the aid.

“We are very thankful to Bintulu Port for this support. We hope this collaboration can continue, not only for Gawai programmes but also for initiatives related to education and the economic development of Dayak women in the future,” she said.

This programme reflects Bintulu Port’s commitment to continuing its active role in building an inclusive and harmonious society through engagement with the multi-ethnic community in Sarawak.
