KUCHING: Sarawak Energy’s commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable workplace has been recognised with the Anugerah Khas Premier Sarawak: Organisasi Responsif D2E1.
The award was presented at the Sarawak Women’s Day 2025 celebration themed “Diversity, Equality, Equity & Inclusivity (D2E1) on Aug 2 at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex.
Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili received the award on behalf of Sarawak Energy.
Sharbini, who also chairs the Sarawak Energy Leading Women Network (SELWN) Council, said the recognition reflected the collective effort across the organisation to foster a supportive and inclusive workplace.
“We will continue to strengthen our efforts to create lasting impact through shared values, equal access and leadership development,” he said.
The award acknowledges Sarawak Energy’s initiatives to promote gender equality through leadership development, inclusive policies and programmes that encourage workforce participation.
Earlier, on July 31, Senior Vice President for Corporate Services Siti Aisah Adenan was featured in the Sarawak Women Creating Legacies book, launched by Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Well-being Community Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
Her contributions include championing the Zero Tolerance for Sexual Harassment initiative and advocating for more women in leadership.
Since 2017, SELWN has driven efforts such as the Women Mentoring Women initiative, flexible work arrangements, onsite childcare centres, nursing facilities, and the SELWN Careline for safe reporting of workplace harassment.
Sarawak Energy is also a signatory to the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles and has received multiple recognitions, including the Malaysia WEPs Award 2024 for its Handicraft Development Programme and the Anugerah Wanita My WIRA during Talent Corp’s Women Empowerment Week.
