KUCHING: The Kuching Love Book Association’s Blood Donation Campaign 21.0 will be held on Sept 27 to help address insufficient blood stocks at the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank.
The campaign will take place at Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching from 9am to 2pm, with members of the public urged to come forward and donate blood.
“We hope that people from all walks of life will actively attend and support this meaningful blood donation event and help people in urgent need of blood.
“One donation of blood can save three lives,” said Kuching Love Book Association today.
The association said eligible donors must be aged 18 and above and weigh at least 45kg, while 17-year-old donors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Donors are advised to have at least five hours of sleep, eat breakfast and avoid alcoholic drinks for eight hours before donating.
The blood donation process is expected to take between five and 30 minutes, depending on the individual.
The first 100 successful donors will receive a goodies bag containing a reusable bag, vouchers, shampoo, canned corn, mooncake, glass noodles, eggs, biscuits, jelly and milk tea.
Buns and chocolate drinks will also be provided to donors on the day.
Members of Lai Lee Beauty & Slimming Centre Sdn Bhd will also provide eye care and consultation services to members of the public.
Additionally, It also said that Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin has been invited as the guest of honour, while Penghulu Lai Boon Khee will attend as a special guest.
