SELANGAU: Regular ground visits are important to identify and address issues that may delay project implementation, said Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang.

He stressed that site inspections enable him and his team to monitor the progress of development works and ensure projects are completed on schedule for the benefit of the people.

“Either I or a representative from the service centre will continue to go to the ground to monitor project progress and ensure there are no delays that could hinder the benefits to the people,” he said in a statement yesterday (Apr 10).

On Tuesday (Apr 9), officers from the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Tamin Branch Service Centre, and representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD) Sibu, conducted a site visit to several 2025 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects within the Tamin constituency.

Among the projects inspected were the upgrading of the farm roads at JKKK Rumah Johnny Aman, Sekuau, and at Robert Dawi, Stapang. The team also checked on works at Rumah Panjang Rasida in Selangau, site levelling efforts at Rumah Kasim, and road upgrades at Sungai Sapi and Emperan Surang in Nanga Tajam.

Gira said these visits reflect his personal commitment and that of his service centre to ensure effective and timely implementation of RTP projects for the benefit of the local communities.

“We are fully committed to ensuring that the projects under the RTP are not only completed on time but also meet the needs of the people in the Tamin constituency,” he added.
