MIRI: A two-year-old girl was killed while her 25-year-old mother sustained leg injuries in a road accident involving a car and two trailers at Jalan Persisiran Pantai here yesterday morning.

Miri Deputy Police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said Siti Zahra Adelia Abdul lah was pronounced dead by Medical Officers at Miri Hospital. Stanley said the girl and her mother were travelling from Bintulu to Miri City when the accident happened at 6am.
“The accident was believed to have occurred when the Perodua Alza carrying the girl and her mother veered to the right lane before colliding with two trailers,” he added.
Stanley said the drivers of the trailers, aged 38 and 63, escaped unhurt. He said that the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
