KUCHING: The Girl Guides Health Carnival 2025 will be held at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) grounds on August 24, 2025 (a Sunday).

Organised by the Girl Guides Association Malaysia (PPPM) Sarawak Branch, it aims to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining good health.

It is also to raise funds to support various activities under PPPM Sarawak, including skills training, camping, equipment upgrades, and management operations.

PPPM Sarawak Branch’s President, Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, said the carnival was not limited to girl guides alone but open to everyone regardless of gender or age.

“We highly encourage everyone to join us and show their support,” she said during a press conference today.

The health carnival will feature several exciting activities, such as zumba, a three-kilometre Fun Run, lucky draw, blood donation, free health screening, as well as stalls offering food, drinks, health products and wellness services.

Morliah added that registration for the event opened today until July 31.

“Those who register early will receive attractive incentives. Early birds can enjoy special packages prepared for this carnival,” she said.

She also encouraged the public to support the Girl Guides movement by turning up for the event.

More than 1,000 participants are expected, including members of the public, government officers and representatives from various non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

All participants will be eligible for the lucky draw which offers attractive prizes.

The opening ceremony and flag-off will be officiated by Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Among the invited guests expected to attend are Deputy Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, and MBKS Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng.

The carnival is supported by various state ministries, departments and private sector partners.
