KUCHING: The Girl Guides Association Malaysia Sarawak Branch has launched the STEM Changemaker Adult Trainer Workshop Sarawak Zone 2025, a programme aimed at inspiring more young women to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The association’s state president, Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, said the initiative was about more than just science and technology.
“We believe every girl has the potential to be an agent of change. STEM Changemakers is also about leadership, creativity and the courage to shape a better future,” she said when officiating its opening ceremony today.
The workshop brought together 60 Girl Guide leaders from across Sarawak, equipping them with the skills to mentor and guide young members through practical STEM learning.
Morliah said the initiative was in line with the association’s vision of producing confident, capable young women who are ready to contribute to their communities and the nation.
Participants were also given a briefing on the wider STEM Changemaker programme, which will be implemented in the coming months through training modules and community-based projects across the State.
