SIBU: Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (SDDMC) coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee has reminded people with Covid-19 symptoms to go to a hospital immediately.

Speaking during a livestream on updates of the Sibu district Covid-19 cases on Saturday, he explained that Brought In Dead (BID) cases often occurred at home when patients with symptoms did not go to the hospital immediately.

“Everyone knows what the symptoms of Covid-19 are like. Go to the hospital immediately, don’t wait for the situation to get worse before going to the hospital.

Dr Annuar, who is also the Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technology Research, added every home should have an oximeter and a Covid-19 self-test kit as a precaution.

He said, “If the oxygen level is below 95, contact the relevant parties and if the oxygen level is below 90, it is necessary for those with symptoms to rush to the hospital.

“Those who have Covid-19 symptoms can also do a self-test and see a doctor as soon as possible before the condition worsens. Therefore, do not wait until your symptoms become serious before contacting the hospital.”

The Nangka assemblyman advised those who tested positive for Covid-19 but were not contacted by health staff within 24 hours to call any of the following lines, namely, Sibu Indoor Stadium at 019-7074391, 019-7074365 or 019-8987642, Selangau Health Clinic (019-8040684) and Kanowit Hospital (084-752033) for further action.
