KUCHING: The Sarawak General Operations Force (GOF) Brigade’s impressive track record of successful operations since January stands as a clear testament to its unwavering commitment to securing the nation’s borders and curbing smuggling activities across the state.
Sarawak GOF Brigade Commander SAC Lim Bak Phai said the achievements, which included multiple arrests and the seizure of untaxed and prohibited goods, were the result of integrated enforcement efforts and the unwavering dedication of GOF personnel in the field.
He said the outcomes reflected the brigade’s strong coordination with other enforcement agencies and its high operational readiness in tackling ever-evolving security threats.
“These successes did not come easily. They are the result of collective efforts from every member of the Sarawak GOF Brigade who remain disciplined, dedicated, and committed to their responsibilities,” he said during the brigade’s monthly assembly yesterday (Oct 14).
However, he stated that operational excellence must always be accompanied by integrity and discipline — fundamental values that define the credibility and trustworthiness of the security forces.
“Any form of misconduct, including corruption and abuse of power, will not be tolerated.
“Every officer must set an example by upholding strong work ethics and moral values,” he said.
Lim also reminded personnel to observe Rule 3C of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993, which highlights the principles of clean, efficient, and trustworthy service.
“Professionalism and transparency are essential to ensuring GOF services remain credible and aligned with the government’s commitment to good governance,” he said.
