SIBU: A pangolin spotted at the Sibu-Bintulu flyover was rescued by a concerned citizen on Monday (July 5)

A SFC officer trying to coax the pangolin out from the cage so that it can be released to its habitat in Rajang Mangrove National Park.

A spokesman from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said the man acted quickly and rescued the animal by bringing it back to his home.

“The kind-hearted man brought the pangolin back to his house before alerting SFC wildlife officers of the incident.

“Once the officers arrived at the man’s home, the protected animal was immediately surrendered for further action,” the spokesman said.

SFC pointed out that the man’s noteworthy action should serve as an example for other citizens in order to protect the precious wildlife.
