KUCHING: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak has presented several proposed high-impact community development projects to Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Native Laws and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat.
The presentation, held at the deputy minister’s office, was led by UiTM Sarawak Deputy Rector (Research and Industry Network) Prof. Ir Dr Juferi Idris today.
Jamit welcomed the proposals with strong support, describing them as aligned with the state government’s vision to foster sustainable development and uplift livelihoods.
“I am impressed by UiTM Sarawak’s clear direction and commitment toward impactful education.
“These projects not only prepare students for the future of work but also provide direct and long-term benefits to our rural populations,” he said.
He added that he would work closely with relevant government agencies to ensure the initiatives are effectively implemented and encouraged UiTM to expand the programmes to more remote districts in Sarawak.
The collaboration, he said, is a meaningful step toward strengthening government-university partnerships for the benefit of Sarawak’s rural communities.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported that the proposals are designed to support Sarawak’s development agenda through initiatives focusing on education, tourism, research, and innovation, particularly in rural areas.
