SIMANGGANG: Six Rural Transformation Project (RTP) initiatives in the Simanggang state constituency are ready for implementation, aimed at improving infrastructure and living conditions in rural areas.
The projects, which cover road access, parking facilities, and longhouses upgrades, were handed over during a ceremony officiated by Sarawak Deputy Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister and Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis on Saturday.
The handover ceremony saw project sites and offer letters officially presented, marking the start of the initiatives under the Sarawak Government’s rural development agenda.
The projects include upgrading the access road and parking area at St Margareth Bayai Chapel, costing RM150,000, roof replacement at Rumah Panjang Chau Sambau in Kampung San Ugol Asal at RM250,000, and the installation of awnings at Rumah Panjang Reggie Beria in Kampung San Kemantan at RM50,000.

Other works involve roof and ceiling upgrades at Rumah Panjang Reggie Beria in Kampung San Kemantan (RM150,000), roof replacement at Rumah Panjang Gangga Empang in Kampung San Tabut (RM50,000), and roof replacement at Rumah Panjang Sigan Anggeh in Kampung Radau (RM50,000).
Harden said the RTP initiatives are funded by the Sarawak Government through Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) representatives to ensure continued development and improve the quality of life in rural communities.
He urged residents to appreciate the facilities provided and expressed hope that the community would recognise the government’s dedication to ensuring their welfare.
