She stressed that teachers play a critical role as the main drivers of this transformation, and must remain open to adopting innovative teaching strategies.

“Educators need to be constantly prepared to adapt new teaching methods and create learning environments that are conducive, inclusive, and enjoyable for children,” she said during the SeDidik Teacher’s Day celebration held USCI Hotel on Thursday night (May 16).

Fatimah, who is also the SiDidik Board of Directors chairperson said the Sarawak government has always valued the dedication and sacrifices of early childhood education teachers.

“Various initiatives and continuous support have been provided to ensure that teachers can carry out their responsibilities more effectively and efficiently in shaping a quality future generation for Sarawak.

“Studies have shown that every USD1 invested in early childhood education and development yields a long-term return of up to USD7 to USD13,” she said, adding that the Sarawak government is committed in providing access, equity and quality early childhood to achieve a 100 per cent target of children attending early childhood education.

On a related note, she called upon everyone, including parents and the community, to continue providing support and cooperation to early childhood education teachers.

“Education is our shared responsibility, and the synergy between teachers, parents, and the community is the key to the success of educational reform from the early stages.

“This will directly support the goals of Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 in achieving social inclusivity and producing quality human capital for the development of Sarawak,” she said.
