LIMBANG: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, made a visit to the ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition at the Dewan Suarah grounds here today.

At the Sarawak state level, the exhibition which was jointly organised by the Department of Information Malaysia and the National Museum of Malaysia, was held in conjunction with the Official Birthday Celebration of His Majesty the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition aims to promote greater understanding and appreciation of the role of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong within the Malaysia’s system of Parliamentary Democracy and Constitutional Monarchy.

It seeks to preserve the institution as a symbol of sovereignty that safeguards all Malaysians.

Among the exhibits that captured visitors’ attention were replicas of the Cogan Alam (Sceptre of the Universe), Cogan Agama (Sceptre of Religion), mace, gendik (tiara), Tengkolok Diraja (Royal Headgear), Pending Diraja (Royal Belt Buckle), as well as the Royal Long Kris and Royal Short Kris.

The Federal Regalia and a list of all Yang di-Pertuan Agong from the first to the present were also showcased.

Wan Junaidi and his wife expressed hope that the public will take the opportunity to visit the exhibition, gain deeper insight into the Yang di-Pertuan Agong institution, and strengthen the spirit of unity encapsulated in the slogan, ‘Raja dan Rakyat Berpisah Tiada’ (The King and the People are Inseparable).
