KUALA LUMPUR: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, attended the 269th Meeting of the Conference of Rulers held at the Meeting Hall, Istana Negara, here today.
Wan Junaidi was warmly received upon arrival by Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela of Istana Negara, Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini; Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad; as well as senior officers of Istana Negara.
Accompanying Wan Junaidi was Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, representing the Premier.
Prior to the meeting, His Excellency also had the opportunity to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim.
In his official Facebook page, Wan Junaidi prayed for the continued blessings upon the nation, and for lasting peace and prosperity under the reign of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The Conference of Rulers’ meeting began with an opening royal address by the chairman of the Meeting, His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and concluded with a briefing presented by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal.
Among the key agendas of this meeting was a Special Security Briefing delivered by the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The Conference of Rulers serves as the highest platform for the Malay Rulers and the Governors to deliberate, advise, and provide insights on national policies, particularly those that directly concern the interests and wellbeing of the people.
