KUCHING: On the third day of Chinese New Year celebrations, Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi continued their visits to Chinese New Year open houses.

They attended the open house hosted by entrepreneur Wilfred Chai and his wife, Tiaw San San, at their residence in Jalan Urat Mata, Tabuan Jaya on Friday night (Jan 31).

Wan Junaidi and Fauziah arrived at 7.40 pm and were warmly welcomed with a lively lion dance performance and a heartfelt reception from the hosts.

The festive atmosphere was further elevated by a special surprise – a birthday celebration for Wan Junaidi, completed with a cake to mark his birthday on Feb 1.

Throughout the event, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah also engaged warmly with guests, discussing various topics, including current affairs and entrepreneurship.

Accompanying the Head of State and his wife were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife, Datin Seri Zuraini Jabbar.

Among those present were Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and his wife Datin Seri Angelina Celestine Ujang along with other distinguished guests.
