KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak Turath Organisation (Turath) Committee at the Astana Negeri today (Dec 17).
Led by chairman Khalid Khan Abdullah Khan, the visit introduced Turath, a newly established NGO aimed at strengthening the understanding of Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah in Sarawak.
“Our goals align with the efforts of Islamic religious agencies, government departments, and the Islamic Religious Council. We will collaborate with relevant agencies, and so far, have held discussions with JAKIM Sarawak for strategic cooperation in organising religious and welfare programmes,” he said.
He added that next year’s programmes will focus on religious teachers and engage the general public, students and youths.
Also present were Sarawak Mufti Department Director Ahmad Sukarno Saini and other distinguished guests.
