KUCHING: Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Datuk Patinggi Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, continued the cherished tradition of visiting open houses on the third day of Chinese New Year.
As part of the celebrations, the Governor and his wife visited the residence of iCube Innovation’s founder and chairman, Datuk Patrick Liew, and his wife, Datin Diana Tay, at 4:45 p.m. yesterday (Jan 31).
Liew, who also serves as the President of the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association (SLTA), warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.
Their arrival was met with a vibrant lion dance performance, a hallmark of Chinese New Year celebrations symbolizing prosperity, good fortune, and warding off evil spirits.
Accompanying the Governor on the visit was the Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, along with his wife, Datin Seri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
The open house visit at Liew’s residence was one of many held throughout the city as families and businesses welcomed friends and guests celebrating the Lunar New Year.
