KUALA LUMPUR: Head of State’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi has received a briefing from the Association of Bumiputera Women in Business and Profession, Malaysia (PENIAGAWATI) Sarawak branch regarding the Sarawak Flood Relief Mission.
During the briefing on Wednesday, PENIAGAWATI Sarawak, led by president, Datuk Emmy Suraya Hussein, informed that the aid to be distributed to flood victims includes prayer kits, hygiene kits, food and beverages, mattresses, pillows, blankets, electrical appliances, gas stoves, second-hand clothing, and kitchenware.
The aid is scheduled to be delivered to the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Serian on Friday (Feb 7).
So far, a total of RM6,000 has been successfully raised in cash donations, while essential goods weighing three tonnes have also been collected.
The delivery of aid will be managed by the PENIAGAWATI Sarawak branch in collaboration with the Sarawak Social Welfare Department to ensure smooth distribution to those in need.
Meanwhile, Fauziah expressed her appreciation to PENIAGAWATI Sarawak for the initiative and hopes such efforts will serve as an example for other associations in helping to ease the burden of flood victims in Sarawak.
