KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is aiming for a bigger victory in the coming 13th Sarawak general election, building on its performance in previous polls.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the coalition is coordinating preparations across all component parties to ensure its election machinery is fully prepared.

Uggah, who is also GPS election operations chairman, said the preparations cover secretariat operations, publicity, communications and management to ensure a smooth and effective campaign.

“We are all experienced and already have our plans in place. We will follow the strategies that have brought us good victories in the past.

“This time, we want to win even better,” he said in a Facebook statement.

He said this after chairing a GPS election preparation meeting at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters here yesterday (Nov 3).

Uggah said the meeting did not raise any major issues as GPS already has established operational plans based on its experience in previous elections.

He stressed that thorough preparation is a routine practice for the coalition ahead of every election to ensure all aspects of its machinery are properly coordinated.

“This is a normal operation. Every time there is an election, we prepare in all aspects, including the secretariat, publicity, communications and management, so that when the time comes, we are truly ready to face the election,” he said.

Also present were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) deputy president Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) deputy president Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.
