KUCHING: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government has proven its capability in continuing the infrastructure development projects that were cancelled by the previous federal government.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri noted that during the 22 months Pakatan Harapan (PH) was the federal government, many projects were cancelled but the Sarawak government used its resources to continue the projects.
“That has always been the focus of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg which is to develop every corner Sarawak,” she said during a Lan Berambeh programme at Kampung Batu Kita Lama in Batu Kitang here on Sunday.
The Sadong Jaya MP said proof of an efficient government could be seen in how it managed the state and how it overcame challenges.
“For instance, during the Covid-19 pandemic, everybody needs help, and both the Sarawak government and Perikatan Nasional (PN) government although facing challenges, still injected billions of ringgit into the economy.
“This is proof of how a government is able to survive when facing serious challenges.
“Hence, I urge all elected representatives to continue to put your focus on bringing development in your respective areas because there are still many areas in the state which can be explored and developed further,” said Nancy.
