NEW YORK: The United States (US) dollar fell in late trading on Friday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 0.92 per cent to 97.716 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to US$1.1722 from US$1.1610 in the previous session, and the British pound rose to US$1.3526 from US$1.3419 in the last session.
The US dollar bought 146.87 Japanese yen, lower than 148.35 Japanese yen in the previous session.
The US dollar declined to 0.8011 Swiss francs from 0.8089 Swiss francs, and it slipped to 1.3825 Canadian dollars from 1.3899 Canadian dollars.
The US dollar fell to 9.4971 Swedish kronor from 9.6200 Swedish kronor. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
