BETING MARO: Razaili Gapor has stressed the need to elevate the gula apong production industry to a higher level, highlighting its potential to boost the local economy.
The Beting Maro assemblyman pointed out that this particular industry had untapped opportunities for further development and could offer a substantial income for the community.
“There’s 150,000 hectares of land in Sarawak full of nipah trees, so this advantage needs to be harnessed by the government to facilitate large-scale industry growth.”
He said this during the Pembangunan Komuniti Nipah (Transformasi Ekonomi Luar Bandar) programme held in Kampung Tambak, Pusa on Tuesday (May 30).
Razaili expressed his optimism that gula apong entrepreneurs in Kampung Tambak, Pusa would take full advantage of this programme, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of gula apong production.
“By doing so, the industry can continue to flourish and gain recognition nationwide.”
