LONDON: Erling Haaland fired a clinical hat-trick as Manchester City swept aside Liverpool 4-0 to reach the FA Cup semi-finals and deepen the pressure on Arne Slot.
Haaland struck twice before half-time and completed his treble after Antoine Semenyo added City’s third, while Mohamed Salah had a penalty saved by James Trafford.
“It’s very disappointing to be out, not only in the manner but also the score,” Slot said. “Another big disappointment for us.”
The loss leaves Liverpool with just two wins in seven games ahead of a crucial UEFA Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, with Slot adding: “You have to stand there when things are not so positive.” – AFP
