MALAYSIAN singer-songwriter Hael Husaini has been given the golden opportunity to re-record Takdir Cinta, a beloved hit originally made famous by Indonesian diva Rossa.
The offer came from an Indonesian music producer after Hael’s heartfelt performance of the ballad during Rossa’s “Here I Am” concert in Kuala Lumpur this June. His rendition quickly went viral on social media, particularly TikTok, catching the attention of key industry figures across the border.
“This was not something I planned,” Hael explained.
“The offer came from my collaborators in Indonesia after they saw my performance with Rossa. They wanted me to record my own version of ‘Takdir Cinta’.”
Written by celebrated Indonesian songwriter Melly Goeslaw and popularised through the film “Ayat-Ayat Cinta”, the song is set to be part of a larger upcoming project that will see Hael collaborating with artistes from both Malaysia and abroad. While remaining tight-lipped about the full details, he promised more revelations soon.
The 38-year-old Hael admitted that he never imagined he would be working so closely with leading names in Indonesia’s music scene. “I’ll be sharing more about these collaborations in the near future, but for now, I can say it will involve some incredible talents from inside and outside the country,” he teased.
More than a decade after his breakout hit “Jampi” took the industry by storm, Hael insists he has no intention of stepping away from music. Instead, he remains committed to expanding his creative repertoire and supporting fellow artists.
“I will never stop singing,” he affirmed. “Music will always have a place in my heart. As long as my voice holds, I’ll keep going. I also want to continue helping other artistes who need my touch to grow their own repertoires.”
During his recent Kuala Lumpur concert, Hael shared the stage with an impressive line-up of guest performers, including Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Dayang Nurfaizah, Nadeera Zaini, Wany Hasrita, and Nabila Razali.
The two-hour show featured 27 songs, both solo and duet performances. Among the highlights were “Jampi”, “Diam”, “Hajat”, “Hati”, “Sama Seperti Dulu”, and “Kejora”, proving once again that Hael’s musical journey is far from over.
