KUCHING: Former Deputy Minister of Economy Hanifah Hajar Taib has been appointed as the new Deputy Minister of Health following the Cabinet reshuffle under the Madani government.

The appointment sees Hanifah transferring her portfolio from the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of Health, while retaining her position as Deputy Minister within the administration.

In a statement, she expressed her deepest gratitude to the nation’s leadership for the trust placed in her to shoulder this new responsibility.

She also reaffirmed her commitment to executing her duties diligently for the well-being of the people and the country, in line with the government’s principles of justice, sustainability, and holistic prosperity.

At the same time, the Mukah MP emphasised that her service to the people of Mukah will remain a top priority, in keeping with her responsibilities as MP for Mukah.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen the Ministry of Health’s efforts in improving the national healthcare system and ensuring access to quality healthcare services for all Malaysians.
