KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of National Unity remains committed to advancing the Harmoni MADANI initiative through various programmes to enhance understanding of the diversity of religions, cultures and traditions.

Its Minister, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, said the initiative also helps strengthen the spirit of togetherness among the community.

In a Facebook post, Aaron said efforts to reinforce religious harmony remain a key government agenda in the first meeting of the Interfaith Harmony Committee (HARMONI) this year.

He said the meeting, co-chaired with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan, focused on evaluating the implementation of initiatives and programmes supporting the national unity agenda, as well as refining the committee’s role in addressing current challenges related to religious sensitivities.

“Among the matters discussed at the meeting was the role of HARMONI in addressing the risks of cult movements, with a focus on the case scenario involving the Unification Church in Malaysia,” he said in the post. – BERNAMA
