SERIAN: Serian FA head coach Edward Jamid Unting says dressing-room harmony and unity have been the backbone of their impressive campaign.

Serian FA’s head coach Edward Jamid Unting speaks to Sarawak Tribune.

Following a dominant 4-0 victory over PDRM that strengthened their position at the top of the South Zone, he highlighted team harmony as the key ingredient behind their winning momentum.

Serian showed no signs of slowing down as they recorded their ninth win in 10 matches, cruising past PDRM at the Siburan Sports Complex.

Experienced striker Paul Sambang continued his fine form, netting twice in the 14th and 60th minutes to give Serian firm control of the match.

Goalkeeper Khairul Anwar Amin also found the net after calmly converting a penalty in the 26th minute, while Mohd Hasrul Azizi Abdul Rahman sealed the win with a tidy finish in the 72nd minute.

Speaking after the match, Edward praised the players’ commitment and credited the strong team environment for their consistent performances.

“The most important thing is harmony in the dressing room. When the whole team is united, results like this will come,” he said.

He also acknowledged the support from the club’s management, singling out manager Mohamad Azlan Sebi and president Philip Jabu for their roles in fostering a positive atmosphere within the squad.

Edward added that his targets at the start of the season were realistic, aiming for a top-four finish with the possibility of becoming champions considered a bonus.

With one match remaining, he stressed that Serian must stay focused.

“I want to win. Winning the last game will secure us the group title. We won’t take it easy – the players know they must give their best,” he said.

Edward confirmed that preparations for their final match against Betong FA on Dec 6 will remain unchanged, with training scheduled as usual from Tuesday to Friday.

Serian currently sit on 28 points after 10 games and will be aiming to close out the season strongly as they look to finish on top of the Sarawak Premier League, South Zone.
