KUCHING: The Ministry of National Unity (KPN) will organise the Harmony Parade 2025 on February 15 and 16, starting at 9 pm at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang, in a statement, said that the programme is part of the activities held in conjunction with the Federal Territories Day 2025 celebration and the World Interfaith Harmony Week celebration, which has now been rebranded as the Federal Territories Harmony Day 2025.

“The Harmony Parade 2025 is a new programme introduced by KPN to strengthen unity and harmony by showcasing the ethnic diversity, cultural uniqueness, and rich heritage of Malaysian society,” he said in a statement today (Feb 13).

He added that the programme will feature a parade of decorated floats accompanied by 600 participants from 10 ethnic groups, including Malays, Indians, Chinese, Sabahans, Sarawakians, Orang Asli, Baba & Nyonya, Siamese, Chetti, and Javanese.

“These participants will perform cultural dances and play musical instruments throughout the parade,” he added.

The parade will cover a distance of 1.6 kilometres, starting from Dataran Merdeka, passing through Jalan Raja and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, before returning to Dataran Merdeka.

“Unity and solidarity among the people are the primary goals of the MADANI Government.

“The implementation of programmes such as this provides an opportunity for the public to learn about the diversity of religions and cultures within society, fostering a united community that embraces the concept of Understanding, Respect, and Acceptance,” he stressed.

KPN invites the public to attend and take part in the Harmony Parade, experiencing the uniqueness of the decorated floats while enjoying the music, dances, and performances from Malaysia’s diverse ethnic groups.
