SINGAPORE: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, arrived in Singapore today to begin an official visit to the republic.
Also accompanying him were the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, along with his wife, Datin Dr Haniza Zainal Abidin, as well as director of the Regional Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (Sarawak), Datuk Fenny Nuli.
The arrival of Wan Junaidi and Fauziah was welcomed by the Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore, Datuk Indera Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, together with his wife, Datin Indera Che Norhayati Soib.
Upon arrival, the couple proceeded to visit the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS).
On Friday, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah are scheduled to meet with Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development, Masagos Zulkifli Masagos Mohamad.
In the afternoon, they will pay a courtesy call on the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, at the Singapore Istana.
This official visit marks Wan Junaidi’s first trip to Singapore since his appointment as the Head of State, reflecting Sarawak and the Republic of Singapore’s ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding strategic cooperation across various regional sectors.
Both Wan Junaidi and Fauziah expressed their hope that this visit will further enhance the cordiality and diplomatic relations already established, while opening more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Sarawak and Singapore.
