KUCHING: As Sarawak prepares to welcome 2026, Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, extended New Year greetings to all Sarawakians.

Together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Wan Junaidi expressed hope that the new year would bring peace, clarity and renewed inner strength.

He said the arrival of 2026 should be approached with a strengthened sense of purpose, commitment and responsibility towards collective progress and shared well-being.

“The new year must be a platform to reinforce our resolve, refine implementation and ensure every effort produces outcomes that benefit the people,” he said in a press statement today.

Wan Junaidi emphasised that unity, mutual respect and strong social bonds remain essential pillars in safeguarding Sarawak’s stability and long-term development.

“Togetherness and respect across communities are the foundations of harmony, progress and sustainable prosperity for Sarawak,” he added.

He noted that Sarawak’s diverse society has long been its strength, contributing to social cohesion and resilience amid changing global and regional challenges.

He encouraged Sarawakians to continue nurturing goodwill, understanding and cooperation in both public and private spheres of life.

Wan Junaidi also conveyed prayers for the people to be blessed with lasting health, family harmony and success in all undertakings.

He said a peaceful and prosperous environment is vital for enabling individuals, families and communities to thrive and contribute meaningfully.

According to him, 2026 should be embraced as a time for reflection, gratitude and renewal of determination for future aspirations.

Wan Junaidi expressed hope that Sarawakians would move forward with confidence and shared responsibility for future generations.

He reaffirmed his confidence in the people’s ability to uphold unity, wisdom and perseverance in facing the year ahead.
