KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, and their family has extended warm greetings and wishes to Christians across the state in conjunction with Good Friday and the Easter celebration.

In a message, Wan Junaidi described the occasion as a meaningful time of reflection and renewal, underscoring the enduring values of understanding and harmony that continue to define Sarawak’s multicultural society.

He said the state’s unique social fabric remains strong, shaped by close bonds among its people, where individuals of different faiths and backgrounds come together in mutual respect, often visiting one another and celebrating important occasions in a spirit of goodwill.

“Simple gestures such as sharing meals, exchanging greetings and extending care to one another reflect the true essence of unity that we cherish,” he said.

Despite differences in belief, Wan Junaidi said Sarawakians remain united by shared values of compassion, kindness and respect.

“These principles continue to sustain peace and cohesion within the community,” he said.

Wan Junaidi expressed hope that the occasion would bring joy, peace and comfort to those celebrating, while serving as a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness and shared humanity.

He also called on all communities to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and mutual respect, ensuring that the harmony enjoyed in Sarawak remains strong and enduring for future generations.
