KUALA LUMPUR: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, graciously officiated the Ministers’ Gala Dinner held in conjunction with the ASEAN Law Forum 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on Wednesday.

The arrival of Wan Junaidi and Fauziah was welcomed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, accompanied by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, along with his wife, Datin Seri Zuraini Abdul Jaabar.

As a symbolic gesture to mark the official opening, Wan Junaidi struck the gong three times, signifying the commencement of the prestigious event which gathered over 300 participants comprising regional legal experts, judges, lawyers, and scholars.

Following the dinner, Wan Junaidi, together with Fauziah and Azalina, also took part in a batik colouring activity featuring the word ‘ASEAN’, before attending a durian-tasting session at the Sky Garden, Level 6 of KLCC.

In his brief address, Wan Junaidi expressed his hope that the ASEAN Law Forum 2025, which runs from August 19 to 21, would serve as a platform to formulate joint resolutions in addressing emerging legal challenges, including those related to technology, the environment, and human rights.

He stressed his confidence that the forum reflects Malaysia’s commitment to promoting the rule of law while further strengthening legal cooperation within the ASEAN region.
