Head of State graces Miri community leaders with Aidilfitri visits

MIRI: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, continued their Hari Raya Aidilfitri visits by calling on several leaders and community heads here on Friday.

The visits began at the residence of Temenggong Mohammad Abang Othman in Jalan Kampung Luak at about 10 am, as part of efforts to engage with local community leaders.

The delegation then proceeded to the residence of Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus in Taman Bumiko.

Wan Junaidi later performed Friday prayers at Masjid At-Taqwa Miri before resuming the Aidilfitri visits in the afternoon.

The entourage then visited the residence of Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat in Jalan Airport, followed by a visit to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni in Jalan Sim Kheng Hong, Bakam.

Later, Wan Junaidi and his delegation depart for Sibu to continue the next series of Hari Raya visits.

Among those accompanying the delegation were Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Transport Sarawak Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, and Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting.
