KUCHING: Two of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar’s latest works will be launched during the ‘Statesman’s Lecture, Book Talk & Book Launch’ at Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS), Sibu, on August 30.
The books, ‘Teriso’s Little Star’ and ‘Silence’, reflect different facets of Wan Junaidi’s personal journey.
‘Teriso’s Little Star’ is inspired by his childhood experiences growing up in Kampung Pendam and Teriso, while ‘Silence’ is an anthology of poems written in collaboration with Diana Ningkan and Yusuf Mustanir.
Many of the poems in the collection are drawn from his life experiences and reflections.
Wan Junaidi shared stories of his school days in Kampung Pendam when he received a courtesy visit from a UTS delegation at his official residence here today.
The delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Dr Annuar Rapaee, also included UTS Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Khairuddin Abdul Hamid, Registrar Jimmy De Rozario, and UTS Publisher Director Assoc. Prof. Dr Muhammad Firdaus Abong Abdullah.
Wan Junaidi expressed appreciation to UTS for publishing his works and for hosting the event, which will also feature his Statesman’s Lecture titled ‘History, Law and Governance’.
He hoped the lecture would offer insights, broaden perspectives and spark meaningful discussions among academics, students and the wider community.
