MIRI: Police earlier this week detained a local man after he allegedly threatened to kill his former wife at a house at Jalan Luak here.
The 51-year-old suspect was picked up by a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team at his house in Luak Bay on the same day, less than two hours after the alleged incident happened.
In was learnt that prior to the incident, the suspect had gone to the complainant’s house around 3 pm before they got into an argument.
The victim claimed that during the incident, the suspect pointed a knife at her abdomen.
A police report was immediately lodged by the victim.
Acting on the report lodged, police detained the suspect for questioning around 5 pm that same day.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 and 324 of the Penal Code.
