KOTA BHARU: A sombre atmosphere enveloped the burial of medical officer the late Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, 33, at Sri Kedeper Islamic Cemetery in Pengkalan Chepa here today (Sept 13).
The burial ceremony concluded at 2.20 pm following the funeral prayer at Al Karomah Mosque in Mukim Baung Besar, Pengkalan Chepa, which was led by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad immediately after the Zohor prayers.
Also present were Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad, Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Kelantan Health director Dr Kasuadi Hussin, as well as the deceased’s family members and friends.
Earlier, a Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) special aircraft carrying Dr Ainul Baraah’s remains from Miri, Sarawak, arrived at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, at 11.21 am.
Dr Ainul Baraah, 33, was one of five victims of the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Baram, Sarawak; the aircraft crashed and caught fire near the end of the Long Lellang STOLport runway at approximately 3.40 pm last Tuesday.
The crash also claimed the lives of pilot Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 30, medical assistant Alexson Adit Henry, 31, and two nurses, Jessie Paya Jok, 44, and Debra Moset, 40.
