KUCHING: There will be a community blood donation drive this Saturday (Oct 18) from 9 am to 2 pm at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank, organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch in collaboration with the SGH Blood Bank.
This life-saving initiative is organised to prevent blood shortages at the Sarawak General Hospital, especially during festive seasons when donations often decline.
By coming together, the community can help ensure that the blood bank remains well-stocked to support patients in critical need.
Chairman of Blood and Organ Donation, Wendy Tan, said the drive aims to encourage more people to step forward and donate, particularly in the lead-up to festive celebrations.
“We hope that through this campaign, more members of the public will understand how vital their donations are. A single bag of blood can save multiple lives, and every donor truly makes a difference,” she said, adding that donors will receive light refreshments and appreciation tokens.
The Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch invites all eligible donors to participate and make a difference.
“Every drop counts. Your donation could be the reason someone gets to celebrate another birthday, another Deepavali, another tomorrow,” said Chairman of the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Branch, Chew Kim Soon.
