High tide floods: Authorities inspect affected areas in Jepak

BINTULU: Bintulu District Officer Awang Mohammed Nizam Awang Ali Bohan, along with representatives from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Civil Defence Force (APM), the Jepak DUN Service Centre, community and tribal leaders, and the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), inspected areas affected by high tide floods in DUN N.67 Jepak recently.

The affected areas include Kampung Baru, Kampung Sinong, Kampung Kemunting, and Jepak. Close monitoring will continue as another high tide is expected.

Awang Mohammed Nizam urged residents, especially those in riverside and low-lying areas, to take precautions against the possibility of rising water levels.

“Cooperation from all parties is essential in facing this situation. We are committed to ensuring the safety of residents at all times,” he said.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated through local authorities and take appropriate preventive measures.
