KUCHING: Hikmah Serian Branch (Argentina) produced a stunning performance to emerge champions of the 2026 World Cup Santai Closed Futsal Tournament (Belia Ukhwah).
The victory saw them overcome closest rivals, the Hikmah Welfare and Recreation Committee (JKRH/England), who settled for second place.
The winning squad, coached by Ustaz Syahrulniezam, took home RM1,000 in cash along with the championship trophy and medals.
Meanwhile, JKRH/England received RM800 in prize money, in addition to the runners-up trophy and medals.
Hikmah Samarahan Branch/Brazil and Sekolah Menengah Agama Tahfiz Hikmah/France shared third place, with both teams receiving trophies and medals.
Individual awards also saw Mohd Cairum Ridzwan Mohd Radzi named the tournament’s Top Scorer, while Amirrul Hassuna Mohd Yusman and Mohd Khuzairi Iqmal received the Best Player and Best Goalkeeper awards respectively.
The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Serian Branch Chairman, Sarawak Hikmah Youth Chairman and Hikmah Sarawak Supreme Council member, Mohd Haiqal Abdullah, together with JKRH Chairman Mohd Hamka Basri.
The tournament, held at Winner Courts, Jalan Arang, Kuching, featured four participating teams and was jointly organised by Belia Hikmah Sarawak and JKRH, with full sponsorship from Iqraresources.
Commenting on the event, Haiqal expressed his appreciation to all parties for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful organisation of the tournament.
“Thank you to everyone, especially the sponsors and all participating teams, for their support,” Haiqal told Sarawak Tribune.
