KUCHING: Hong Leong Group, represented by Manufacturing Group and Banking Group and, its business partner, Pertama Ferroalloys paid a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Monday (Dec 2).
This visit, led by Datuk Kwek Leng San, Manufacturing Group President of Hong Leong Bank, as well as Yuki Nakamura, General Manager of Pertama Ferroalloys, was aimed at discussing with Abang Johari to exploring avenues for cooperation that align with Sarawak’s Post Covid Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030).
During the meeting, Abang Johari emphasised the critical role of high-quality cement in supporting infrastructure projects in Sarawak, highlighting the northern and eastern corridors of Sarawak.
He said a collaboration between the state government, Hong Leong Group as producer and technology provider and Pertama Ferroalloys (PFA) as competitive raw materials supplier for the cement production, would be significant in meeting the increasing demand of quality and competitive cement in Sarawak’s infrastructure projects.
Having a key focus on improving the connectivity in Sarawak, Hong Leong Group also expressed its strong interest in exploring township and renewable energy development opportunities in Sarawak, recognising Sarawak’s vast potential for growth and investment.
The discussions also covered the broader economic and social impacts following this significant collaboration.
By strengthening and supporting these projects, the partnership will open more job opportunities for the local Sarawakians, and stimulate local economies, contributing back to the overall welfare of Sarawak’s communities.
This is a shared vision crucial to promote sustainable growth in Sarawak.
