KUCHING: Young children in Kuching have learned the value of giving back as Hope Place has brought its message of charity and compassion to three schools.
The local non-governmental organisation (NGO) was recently invited to share its community work and inspire students at Tadika Kastil, Lodge National Primary School and Lodge International School.
Hope Place Manager, Yong Tiong Yieng, said the talks were aimed at instilling empathy and cultivating a culture of giving among the younger generation.
“Children who understand that there are kids their age out there who are struggling will have a different mindset and outlook,” he said in a statement issued by Hope Place today.

At Tadika Kastil, parents and preschoolers together donated over 30 packets of rice, dry food, toiletries, clothing and toys.
Meanwhile, Lodge National Primary School contributed items such as dry noodles, biscuits, canned food, water bottles and lunch boxes.
Hope Place said it will continue to welcome opportunities to share its stories and experiences with schools and institutions of higher learning to raise awareness of community service and volunteerism.
