KUCHING: The Fire and Rescue Services Department here recently provided free fire drill training to the Hope Place Kuching staff.
The training was provided by Miss Penny ak Johnny and Mr. Eric Wilson.
Hope Place staff are often involved in helping fire and flood victims. They learnt from the Fire and Rescue officers how to respond during a fire and what to do in case of a fire.
They learnt that they should call the nearest fire station in case of a fire instead of calling 999. This is because those manning the 999 hotline will contact West Malaysia and then West Malaysia will pass the call to Sarawak.
