SARATOK: A fire has completely destroyed a two-storey house at Kampung Hulu Sesang, Kabong, early this morning (Jan 17).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said no injuries were reported and all occupants managed to escape safely during the incident.
Firefighters from the Saratok station were dispatched after receiving a distress call at about 7.08 am.
The blaze involved a two-storey, semi-permanent structure measuring about 30 by 60 feet, which was burnt down entirely.

Firefighting operations were carried out using a 200-foot hose line with two nozzles, with water sourced from the fire engine.
The operation was also assisted by the Kabong Volunteer Fire Brigade, which deployed a 100-foot hose line, a portable pump and water from an open source.
Overhaul works were conducted to ensure there were no remaining fire hazards.
Police, the Kabong Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Civil Defence Force (APM) were also present at the scene.
The cause of the fire and the extent of losses are still under investigation.
