KUCHING: A 69-year-old housewife had her handbag snatched at 10.30 am last Saturday in front of a bank at Jalan Setia Raja near here while she was walking to her house at Jalan Hupkee.
The victim said while she was walking a man on a motorcycle suddenly grabbed her handbag before he sped off.
The woman claimed that her handbag contained RM1,000 and some personal documents.
She also said that she could not remember the motorcycle’s plate number as the incident happened very fast.
In another case, at about 7.30pm last Saturday a victim said her neighbour at Foochow Road called her to say that her front gate was opened.
She then rushed home and discovered that a window has been forced open.
After a thorough check, the woman found that a television set, CCTV decoder, a CCTV camera, five computers, a gas cylinder and other electrical appliances were missing.
She estimated her losses at a few thousand ringgits.
