Housing developer ordered to pay RM72,725 compensation

BINTULU: A housing developer here was ordered to pay a total of RM72,725.99 in compensation by the Sarawak Housing Purchaser Claims for late handover of properties and defects on workmanship.

The panel members led by its president Datuk Maznah Dasmi, Alhadi Ibrahim and Robert Elone Sireng came to the decision against the developer in a heating at the Sessions Court, Bintulu yesterday.

The compensation accounted for three claims on the late handover of properties and defects on workmanship for the property.

The Tribunal ordered the developer to pay RM21,004.62 to Kung Teak Hin ; RM22,100.87 to Hii Wei Sieng, Hii Wee Toh and Hiew Sing Siong ; and RM29,620.50 to Sim Mong Yii and Amg Siaw Ching.

All of the claimants’ properties are located at Kemena Land District.

The house developer was given 45 days to compensate the claimants after receiving notices from the tribunal.
