SARIKEI: Demonstrating his continued dedication to improving rural infrastructure, Sarikei Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, conducted a site visit to inspect two newly completed cement road projects in Sarikei.
Huang, who is also the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability as well as Repok Assemblyman, visited Jalan Seng Kung, Sungai Merudu, and a village road in the Jakar area on Friday to assess the quality and effectiveness of the project implementation.
The project at Jalan Seng Kung, Sungai Merudu involves the construction of a 250-meter-long and three-meter-wide road, while the village road in the Jakar area measures 140 metres in length and three metres in width.
According to him, the working visit aimed to ensure that the projects were implemented according to the specified standards and timeline, in line with the government’s efforts to provide better basic facilities for rural residents.
“With these roads, residents’ access to various facilities will become easier and more comfortable. This also directly helps improve their standard of living,” he said after the visit.
He also expressed his gratitude for the trust and support of voters who have given him the opportunity to serve his hometown, Sarikei.
“I grew up in Sarikei; this is my hometown. All of you are like family to me, always providing encouragement and support, allowing me to serve with all my heart,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to the Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, for his continued support to development in Sarikei, particularly through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), which has greatly contributed to upgrading basic facilities such as roads, schools, churches and temples.
“All this development reflects the Premier’s concern and commitment to Sarikei and its people,” he added.
He further expressed his commitment to bringing more development projects to the Sarikei area and hopes to continue close collaboration with all parties for the progress and well-being of the people.
